UNDER URET

Dansk Rakkerpak (DK)
60 Minutes

From 6 years and up

Under uret humorously, touchingly, poetically, and absurdly portrays the quirky encounters between people – all those awkward moments where we try to connect, are involuntarily thrown into a meeting, or discreetly attempt to avoid one. Human connection is one of the things we depend on the most. At the same time, making contact and having equal, meaningful encounters can be among the hardest things for us to do.

Under uret unfolds at a train station and presents a mosaic of human interactions between people who either wait beneath the clock or pass by for all sorts of reasons. Some are genuinely there to meet someone. Others are rushing to catch a train. Some bump into each other by chance. Then there are those who work at the station, have errands there, or pass through regularly. The cast of characters includes frazzled commuters, busy businesspeople, dirty backpackers, stressed-out parents, runaway children, Nordic walkers, train conductors, kiosk owners, tradespeople, cleaners, drunks, lonely souls, pickpockets, police officers, and lovers.

Under uret is performed in Dansk Rakkerpak’s signature style – a comic, physical, and nonverbal form of theatre. With its precisely timed, musical, and action-packed approach, the theatre company sharpens the contrasts and highlights the absurdities of daily life, all laced with a generous dose of humor.
